accessibility

Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to discover music on blackradio, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we do

  • Label buttons, form fields, and controls so they can be identified by assistive technology.
  • Support keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link.
  • Check text colors against WCAG contrast requirements.
  • Pause background animation when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Never block zooming, so pages can be enlarged on any device.
  • Review accessibility when we build or change features.

Known limitations

Music videos play in embedded YouTube players. Their controls and captions are provided by YouTube and we cannot change them; captions are available only where the video's owner has provided them. Some older pages may not yet meet every guideline, and we are working through them.

Report a barrier

If something on blackradio is hard to use, or you need information in another format, email privacy@blackrad.io. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will reply within 5 business days and work with you on a fix or an alternative.
